That smile hides everything!! |
I met this child in my college premises yesterday, he was selling newspapers.
Came towards us and asked if we wanted one, and had a sweet little smile on his face all the time.
After talking for sometime he started telling about himself and we were like just listening to him. :)
When asked he told that he attends school in the morning and sells newspapers in the afternoon.
He also told proudly that he's in 6th standard and could read and write very well, gave us a demo also.
We offered some money in the beginning and he straight away refused to take the money and insisted that we buy the newspapers instead.
We thought of taking him to the canteen, after asking him a lot of times he agreed to come with us!
A bottle of cold drink and he was happy,on being inquired he told he had a little sister.
Comes daily to our college at 2 in the noon and has about 50 newspapers which hardly make rupees 100 a day.
What surprised me even more was that before even drinking cold drink, he offered us to drink!!
And until we all had a sip from the bottle he didn't touch it.
Must say he had a big heart at such a small age but has become mature enough to earn and live!!
Perhaps he's one of the strongest and lovely soul!!
That smile on his face hides his hardship and struggle at such a tender age.
Before going he said "Thank You Bhaiya", made my day!! :)
